Privacy policy

Last updated

rss is a feed reader. This page says what it keeps about you, why, and who else handles it. In short: only what it needs to run your account, and nothing for ads or tracking.

Who runs rss

rss is run by George Rodier, in the United States. For anything about your data, write to rss-support@georgerodier.com.

What we keep and why

What we don't do

No ads, analytics or tracking, and we don't sell your data or share it, except a timeline you choose to share (below). The app loads no third-party scripts.

Shared timelines

When you share a timeline, anyone with its link can follow its newest articles (titles, excerpts and links) and see the names of the feeds they come from, but not your name or email. Stop sharing, or make a new link, to turn the old link off.

Who processes data for us

Images in articles

Images in articles load straight from the publisher's site, which sees your IP address and browser, as it would if you visited it.

Cookies

rss sets one cookie, the session cookie, which keeps you logged in. Nothing else, so there's nothing to accept or refuse.

How long we keep data

Until you delete your account. Database backups are kept for up to 35 days, so data you delete is gone from them within 35 days.

Your choices

Pre-alpha

rss is still being built. Until it's ready, its database may be wiped, accounts and all.

Changes to this policy
